Story of Colour Transparent Character by GIFT
The Art of Design and their learning are not
easy but at GIFT it is simplified by the virtue of God Almighty for every
individual learner.
GIFT is full of storytelling about design
with a co-relation of history relevant subjects along with technology whether
it be small scale, large scale or “Laghu Udyog” or “kuttir Udhyog”. Every
learning of GIFT can very well gel in with the one who was apparently our
Father of the Nation Mahatma Gandhiji, whose style of education, ideology,
philosophy , Ashram style living and learning, Gandhi’s India, idea,
entrepreneurship more than job and dream, I intend to carry forward since the
beginning.
No doubt transparent in any relation or work
includes Accounting, Management or any other professions etc is highly
appreciated by masses and is good for mind to keep a calm and peaceful healthy
living and working in a human society. Transparency brings in correlation of
two and two together as like in humans for a better working that makes the
environment more joyful with togetherness in nature which is a good sign of
both side growths. One must see how God has created the paradise of earth
through transparency pouring the human mind with versatile Knowledge and
practice in day to day’s life.
When we talk about the transparent character
of colour we implement that character into our daily lives from nature cresting
as road to success for all.
It is a very
difficult task to make the Course Abstract for Colour which is to be learnt in
a span of a few hours. A lot of thinking needs to be brought into consideration
to create a learning of the subject with its methods and objectives like an unimaginable,
enhanced intermission of the colour and light that glows as ever for a
successful path in all field of life. By the grace of God what so ever we do
good and more good for our soul, which is God’s spirits in us, we should know
how to be good, and if we are not as above then God is not concerned because he
has given us hearing power, sight with intelligence to be humans that is why we
are different and more meaningful than all creatures made by God.
As we all know that without stories one
cannot grow and learn and it is only the understanding of this “story” that
helps a person to lead a better life in future.
It is also a
well known fact that every human has millions of stories to tell about
themselves but expressing it through a quote or writing is not an easy task for
every individual, leaving most part of the story incomplete and they have a sad
demise where no one knows the “beginning” and “The End” of their stories.
Then how one can teach this sort of complete
learning in the classroom about the transparent character of colour to the
fresh learner in such a short duration?
For this as above mention thoughts fuming
coming up with a reason for this I have traveled in the memory of my mind for
thousands of miles to recall all the glances registered since long. It is quite
surprising to me as I have so many stories about colours to make others
understand how to practice the colour and colour transparency, surface
ornamentation and any such character in textile, or Fashion Designing.
For e.g. If you are stationed on the apex of
the tallest hill and look down towards the proceedings of the landscapes
covered with sheets of fresh morning dew and hazel light one can find
tremendous activities present which give an essence to the ethos of Natura, which
is effusively elicited to its enigma, of transparency which is created by God
Almighty. This view gives birth to ideas to utilize that hue of versatile
colours in the purest of forms like muddy marshes, greenery or stones, all in
different depths showing a transparent character of an elusive mind. This when
brought about in ornamentation with a flat brush on a white paper for further
development of fabric prints and paper prints which is used for gift wrapping
gives the effect like the earth’s paradise and glory reflecting directly by the
paintings unlike the sorcerer’s illusions. With this exercise one can see the
changing colour in a versatile increasing depth which is visually unimaginable
in many minds.
All this is understood better when painted
practically and not when written in text. Normally, our eyes are not that
sensitive to observe and catch any colour, hues and its character that is why
innocently as a human we are not able to notice the sight of colour which we
are observing. That is why one should consider through minute and detailed
observation the objects of certain colour character, and here one may find to
their surprise that there are many colours that get blended and here we salute
to God Almighty for his creation of nature.
For example, in rocks you can not only see
grey, silver or a dark charcoal, but also versatile growing colour glowing like
the violet, crimson , scarlet and lavender in winter and in summer something
else. The above colours apart from the natural ones seem to be hazy in nature
and the natural are comparatively more dominant. Hence we can infer that the
colours that are not so obvious in the rocks are an understanding which is the
main reason that the object looks pleasing to the eyes in spite of being
coarse, hard and rough in its nature. This understanding when transferred into
transparency also helps to be unbiased against certain colours of our liking
making us more open to the wide range of colors present till today.
Another story of colour which I see through
the marine life in the down water is that in spite of the light not going to
the deepest part of the oceans; life prevails which is so difficult to
replicate today. This creation of God is a great example to understand that a
simple medium of water through its properties plays the part of a prism and
minerals create the translucence in it giving us a soft picture in our mind
registering it for us to analyze. The understanding of how a squid changes
colors in seconds and how the fish are present in refreshing colours gives us a
better understanding of how we can create a masterpiece using this quality of
merging of colours in paintings.
For example, the movement of vegetation and
creature gives tremendous overlapping of unimaginable glitters of color and
this when used as a colour palette gives rise to a more meaningful painting
through the flat brush with an analytical approach behind it. Here in nature we
find the crystal blues and greens difficult to be converted for our
understanding especially through text; hence a colour palette is extremely
essential to give our work a start. When the above mentioned colours absorb the
bright red, blue, yellow etc, they turn to their respective shades making it
eye pleasing and these when penned down and paint accordingly in transparency
help us to understand the knowledge of purity of color.
Another example is while passing through the
valleys, during a full moon starry night, surrounded with grown up trees, green
fields, as well as the uphill and downhill widening path with breeze whistling
away into the air, we sometimes hear the wild birds and animal noises from all
directions. In the midst of this our ear simply cannot locate the exact
direction of the source of the noise, making our eyes get rolled up in fear,
and at this time we see the surrounding colors in nature full of mischief with
a translucent effect. This shows that the color changes with the state of mind
and when this is recalled and implemented through empirical methods creating
picture plates in our mind it is going to be like colour sorcery like the
magicians playing the flute creating colours like violet, silver, grey, foggy
blue and stone hues. This state of mind reduces the distance from your glance
and these when taken as a colour palette, and painted would give an extreme
feeling of a sober haunted paradise and this again cannot be explained or
expressed that well by talking and text. One needs to paint in order to
understand this particular character of the above stories to understand them
more effectively.
Another example is that the span between dawn
and twilight has a very dominant colour of the atmosphere which is why the
flying creatures and the objects seen appear to be not so strong in colour that
even though they have their own beauty of colour losing its identity. This
immediately relates to the story of the big fish eating the small fish or the
fact that in front of the strong colour the weak colour loses its identity.
Simply there is no darkness in the atmosphere during dawn and twilight that we can
observe with our naked eyes.
Mostly at that time you will find a prism
effect in the atmosphere in colours where violet being the strongest and maroon
showing tremendous depth, proceeds to give a translucent effect which is
actually colour transparent in character.
The above understanding shows that as if some
magician is weaving colour in a transparent effect where we can notice every
single color with immense depth changing its hues in such a way that many
shades are seen.
As artist are without any technical gadgets,
because if they use the photography media where the camera cannot be your eyes;
it is simply because the camera lens sees everything and your eyes are very
particular with your focused mind. So again try to paint the color picture with
a flat brush for better understanding in an ornamental style of nature in
geometry with controlled generosity.
In spite of so many stories being told and
endless work done, till date the knowledge is still incomplete in reference to
colour. Here we realize and recognize the God’s created earth’s paradise which
has innumerable colours in every zone and every objects on this earth.
For example the botanical, zoological,
minerals, precious stones, metals sand, mud, rocks, marine life, atmosphere,
fire etc. have infinite and nameless colours. Here the mathematical reasoning
of humans may have failed till today but the discovery of the human nature
certainly can answer a lot of questions to find the name subjectively. When the
colours get blended in it and cling to each other interlacing in a way that
become two and two and better in pairs but still you will not find colors in
total. Every research from the above subject certainly will bring some light to
the human understanding but no one can challenge the creator of this wonderful
paradise ever.
One should carry on claiming own research or
discoveries mentioning your exploration, scientifically or empirical methods
even though it may seem beyond human reach similar to the time when an atom of
hydrogen blasts, the impact is so high that it is very difficult to take an
account of the colour formed during the blast. Who wants to see a colorless
life? Sorry! This earthly paradise is not a place for them to survive in.
Many researchers face readers, palmists, astrologers,
astronauts promised and talked blah blah…..about colour and human nature and
for this myself Prof. Khalid Ameer Rafique is a great example for my own growth
in the field of colour.
My story
which has become history is quite unusual than the other common people which
was surprisingly unknown to me while I was pursuing higher education at
National Institute of Design in Ahmedabad. (NID)
My first
month of second semester in NID when I was learning sketching, colour
composition and colour painting as fine Arts. I simply painted the roses
according to my understanding without any consultation and guidance. The very
next day when I had displayed my work on the soft board for guidance, my
colleagues and teacher along with the entire class were laughing their heart
out which was quite surprising to me. I thought that since I was a fresh
learner without any background in this art I must have received such a
reaction, due to my foolish work.
Later I realized that I had painted the roses
bluish pink and this was how I understood colour and my journey to understand
it began from that instance of my life. Back home when I spoke to my elder
brother Mr. Nasir.M.Rafique who at his time was the youngest principal of IHM
Ahmedabad, laughed at me when I told him what had happened at NID. He suggested
that we would consult a doctor to check my eyes with understanding of my brain
pattern and then I realized that I could not see green and red and saw these
colours as something else.
That made me
completely blind to the above two colours, and this episode took a mysterious
turn in my life where my knowledge started growing infinitely in the field of
colour transparency and its character.
I became a magician and sorcerer of colour
because the way I talk about colour others may not be able. So my empirical
methods of learning have made me stronger and I have registered the actual
colours and the colours that appear to me respectively for my in depth
understanding of colour.
After a few years when I was working in
Kolkata (Rishra-West Bengal) for the development of linen fabric, being the
senior most person I selected 7 people as technicians and supervisors who were
fresher’s. They certainly went through medical tests and checkups and brain
mapping and understanding of colours in the industry where the doctor found out
that some were colour blind like me.
Even after me being at a high authority and
all the tests that these people went through the organization raised the
objective and had their strong doubts about these people that they would not be
fit to work for their job profile due to the colour blindness problem.
I remarked
that they were present not to design but would be taking care of the weaving
with colours. Whatever colour shade they would be given they would have to
simply match that and rectify it to the right shade and the color blindness can
never change two images in it in one mind of the same colour. That means that
the given colour is green and he had to match it accordingly and even if he
sees the colour as brown he would still see the right shade to be matched with
the sample that he would be given. For this I was highly appreciated by the
organization for my good gesture towards the human society.
I have crossed almost 35 years in the field
of Textile and Apparel Designing and during this tenure I worked with Arvind
Mills in Ahmedabad, Jayashree Textiles Kolkata, Raymond’s in Thane, Gujarat
Spinner and various small and large industries and also taught as a visiting
and full time faculty at NID for 14 years and since 1995 teaching and heading
GIFT.
This journey of experience was enough to
develop the expertise and course abstract for fresh learners to name with
colour. That is why at GIFT, the story of colour transparent character in my
life is seen and we highly succeed in what work we can do in one hour, making
the fresh learner not believes their own work in such a short duration. Nobody
can believe that with fresh learners for your understanding see our picture
plates and try to practice your own accordingly, you are also able to do that
because any organization would believe in transparency and developing bridges
from one place to another for the designers community just as I believe in it.
No one needs
to believe the above mentioned as this is my faith and belief but it is the
truth being proved at least since 15 years at NGO GIFT (Gandhi Institute of
Fashion and Textile, Ahmedabad) where the fresh learners are live examples to
experience the above truth where in a few hours they become master of colours where
the understanding and knowledge keeps on increasing day by day. They also
become good at Surface ornamentation with versatile forms such as flowers and
flowery, fruits, motifs, bale, booties, leaves, grass, trunk, thorns,
geometrical forms, and their abstract texture for meaningful synchronization
for a shape and look and this is a complete learning in just 25 to 35 hours.
For your reference the actual colour picture
plates is kept for your understanding and the practice can be done globally.
Thanks to God Almighty for my inspiration in
faith to the masses along with my students in what GIFT teaches and believes.

“Colour Soul and Conclusions of Colour Blindness”
Colour
blindness for designer is a God’s Gift. But according to my knowledge, I have
not seen and read about any colour blind designer or artist telling the stories
about his distinguished methods and objectives in his practice how he/she
drives his/her own colour paradise in his/her work and why he/she is
successful. My vigorous search in NID library, Art Book centre and Museum in
available Art Book Picture Plates of such designers and artists work, along
with detail text, as above said mention, I has not found as needed by my
research.
It may be known that colour blind designers
and artists must not have felt the need to share their expertise openly about
their lack of inbuilt character of being colour blind. But here I cannot write
with my expertise and understanding while going through picture plates of their
painted work. They must have sort of fear about the society and appropriate
industry people how they are going to react or may be their extra gift by
virtue of birth from God, which they don’t want to share, but their selfish act
not to share their extra gift in others benefits, not making them growing.
Colour blindness means you are not fully
colour blind. That changes the colour images into other colour images. Mostly
if you see in the desert people are green and partially red blind. That means
actually in place of green colour, they see beige, light brown etc. That means
green gets replaced in vision to other colours and because of that the subjects
becomes very important for me to do research, because this is unusual and they
have totally different vision compared to common people. That means any one’s
colour blindness in the human mind will affect the total colour of the
universe. That means they can see any perfect colour hues but certainly their
way of seeing the colour hue is different than common people.
That
certainly shows that I have practically tested the vision of colours as much
more powerful than a common person and their visualization, composition while
playing with colours are much more good in creating designs and painting in
harmonious rendered symphony which is very settled and outstanding and their
soberness is classic. For example in reference to the masses especially for
textile industry, I have developed summer collections of 1992 of Raymond
worsted Suitings for men’s wear. There I have used more than 7 colours in warp
and in weft not less than two and created totally new colours of suitings for
domestic and overseas market which has a pinch of colour effect as well as a
glow of light on every surface of the fabric which I have designed and till
today nobody could copy that style of designing. People still remember that,
that development has never been created by any designer because most of them
who are in the field of designing are not colorblind.
Ageing makes
a person human and perfect. That is why as a teacher I am sharing my expertise
to the global designers and textile industries which can be also useful for the
navy and air force too.
“For example: Being colour blind, the green
appears more bright in nature towards brown colour and when I talk about aqua
and marine green it has tremendous depth with a glow of blue and Aquamarine
shades in it which is not possible to see for those who are not colour blind”.
If I compare
myself to others, my colour blind for red is going to be very, verily different
in colour palette than others. For example, red, blood red, tomato red, tan
red, Indian red, rose red, maroon, magenta, violet, lilac, lavender, coffee,
black, navy blue are very precious to me than any other common designers. In
that example, if I am talking about maroon colour I can see in it hues of
crimson, scarlet and more red splitting towards vermillion and orange. I can
easily read the percentage of such colours and distinguish in separate portions
their identity which helps me specially in blending different coloured yarns of
the same or different tone from different colour families in woven designing
and due to this I can merge various colours and I can lift any particular
colour on the surface as ornamentation decoration to make a fabric much richer
and accepted by the masses likings.
The above
said mention understanding and knowledge due to my colour blindness helps the
industry grow financially, economically as well as achieve fame. For example if
you sandwich parrot green in between the rust in small quantity the parrot
green decor will get converted into reddish rust (Orange shade), this, I can
see without practice, but for others, they need to weave the fabric and see the
result for a better understanding.
In men’s
wear, designers were very hesitant to use the feminine colour as decor but due
to my colour blindness, I have used mostly such colours because they have the
tendency to lose their identification very easily to other colours. That is why
for ages the designers were using only grey decorations in tweed. In processing
through milling these very bright colours lose their identity and become
softer, but who can make people understand that colour blindness is a “gift
from God and not a curse” to the designers.
For example,
a colour blind person doesn’t need to understand the chemistry of any
individual colour segment and their dying percentage because in separation of
that they can read with naked eyes for above mentioned. And this is the
strongest character in mind working machine which is much faster than any man
made machine, due to the gift of god Almighty to the colour blind designers.
Due to the above said mention understanding
the colour blind person easily registers the colour images in mind with the
name like others and when it is blended, the two different understandings in
his utility and that practice creates unimaginable refined work, which is not
only classic, is beyond classic.
A colour blind person will never instantly
use colours with fear because they have in depth knowledge due to the struggle
in comparison to others colour mind that is the reason they are simply genius
in the field of understanding of Colour.
I can write
so many stories about colour blindness but every colour blind person is not as
lucky as me to do the same. But according to my above text and articulation
with examples, one can try with empirical methods to develop further ideas
where at some instances I have mentioned above to feel the truth. Believe me
and test, you will also believe that colour blindness is not a curse but it is
God’s blessings.
Here, I am sharing my trueness, but that may
differ from medical science and others.
“Pen Ornamentation”
“Ornamental Pen and Ink
is the key to Designer’s mental block.”
“Pen and ink is not a simple media for designer,
certainly it is a sharp tool for designers ornamental mind opening”.
As mentioned above, the ornamental mind of designer should not be eraser
friendly; it should be like the memories of human mind. And when that attitude
is activated, it certainly will remove all the carelessness and lazy attitude.
This makes the mind of a designer completely focused towards scribbling with
pen and ink in versatile minute forms and textures. These forms and textures
may seem meaningless in the initial stage but later on with keen observation
while working, it gives definite meaning, which harmoniously flows towards
symphonic ally and frame the picture. Once it is done it looks as if someone
has rendered magically spine music into design where the pen is singing and the
spread ink is tapping the chord. No doubt this can be felt by the masses along
with designer’s soul.
“There is no need to be surprised as the
innocence of nature plays a major role in its effortless, amazing creation
which is endless going towards infinity, then how one can be bored in life with
its accountability. For example, God has created paradise earth which is not
possible by any human habitat to account forever, where every transparent
discovery of human shows fresh creation of God and how one can bring it on
paper every creation. Even when thousands and thousands of designers get
united, they will not be able to cover the God’s created wonderful paradise of
earth. Think when all trees of Earth
were PENS [kalam] and the OCEAN were INK with seven oceans behind it to add to
its supply, yet would not the WORDS of GOD be exhausted in writing for GOD is exalted
in power, full of wisdom, then work as above mentioned scribbling in the praise
of God’s bounteous paradise glory then also the ink and “Kalam” will never get
exhausted and work will remain incomplete, that shows and makes us understand,
why to worry or fear. Do as much as possible and enjoy life”.
The above mentioned
is a mirror and understanding, which shows the human habits to carry forward
the same work in better style and technique from one habitat era to another
era.
As we all know that,
we cannot tabulate love and affection in the same style, we cannot frame the
creativity, it flows with its own innocence universally and as we bow down with
knowledge and praise that, we all grow much better.
Another example, to collect all the gold,
rubies and pearls of the earth and make a jewel even then there is no
comparison to God’s created earth paradise. That shows whatever and whenever,
anywhere on this earth if somebody tries to name such activities as mentioned
above it is his or hers mind interpretation, explanation or justification for
claiming they found, made or created any things, which is not the truth,
because we human only finds the way of doing things through discovery from Gods
creation as a creature.
With the above
understanding one can live thousand years without getting bored and workless.
That is, which I feel, is a designer’s soul that never dies.
It
was a very difficult task for me to introduce such above mentioned foundation
course for fresh learners at GIFT NGO, which really took me almost 10 years to
understand and evaluate how it is important actually, which is the key to
learner’s mind.
For example, to
understand much better about the above subject one need to do minute and random
scribbling in single style, in selected shapes with composition skills to
complete the subject. One can add clothing to the subject through ornamental
scribbling and in the same way we can understand gist and gesture like the
story of Zen, and with that designer can walk for their entire life.
Why
the above subject is most important in a designer’s life today? Normally and
simply they get confused and lost with internet surfing and flipping the pages
in the library and don’t find sufficient material which they can use in their
professional practice, that is why GIFT’s (Gandhi Institute Fashion and
Textile) common foundation course learning for fresh learners helps open their
mental blocks in few hours. And that we would like to share with transparency
for the benefit of global designers’ community and Design Institutes through
various sources. That is why we have launched our website (www.gift-india.com), and added the beneficial materials on Face book, Google Blogs and many
more social media. Simply GIFT is an NGO, that is why we always work in favour
of universal learners, which can be access from blogger profile Khalid Ameer
Rafique or gift Gandhi institute ahmedabad or institute of fashion and textile
anywhere in the world.
How GIFT students are
utilizing the above learning in their profession is normally unknown to the
Global Design Institutes. For Example the above mentioned pen and ink
scribbling can be mixed with versatile and different media and certainly blend
like soluble in anything or in any liquid without losing its identity.
GIFT
students’ uses and utilizes the above learning in versatile subjects. For
Example, in Fashion; Fashion Illustration; Fashion Accessories; Body Make ups,
etc., Textile, Minute Detailing for print Design as well as woven design and
for Jewellery Design pouring like precious stones in any metal, which reflects
nature blooming very near and reachable to the humans to admire the beauty and
restrain the glances of its Godly effect
like, two bodies of water flowing and meeting together without a barrier which
cannot be transgressed and both identity remains the same, then how can one
deny the truth of the Lord.
The results of GIFT Fresh Students learning is displayed for your
glance for everybody’s growth by the virtue of God Almighty.
Note: The above text shows that a child
becomes genius, which means, one needs to learn how to frame the above learning
in definite context with their professional practice to grow.

Emboss
and Embossing Emend:
GIFT Common Foundation Course Exercise -
Embossing a surface, which breaks the learner’s mental blocks and emend emblem idioms
as a stress buster.
Imagine a world without Emboss – this is as good as
life without heart and soul. This was the initial idea of Prof. Khalid Ameer
Rafique to find with the help of research and accordingly develop all
Foundation Common Design Course Abstract with a cosmic notion of life in it and
all GIFT NGO learners should thus pour in their heart and soul while learning.
To
understand its value within a minute in its technical depth, with its fullness
and wonderful gesture of emboss such as, dimension, volume, projection, light
and shadow, proceedings, raised, bold, obstruction, sense, navigation, uneven,
rough, unevenly smooth, protection, shelter, valleys, depth, height, gentle and
pious, bosom, relief, emotion, feeling, relation, cherish, holding, along with
all movable creatures of God with various moods and living.
The above understanding makes a learner to easily
implement in his or her learning and incorporating for developing concept in
any thing maybe with a baby pencil, pen or any different medium etc, as needed
for conceptual moods and gestures that makes a fresh learner strong and
powerful in his or her composition of life.
Since
childhood every learner has a habit to write, rewrite, overwrite or erase and
again write the same which is good initially but later on destroys the
confidence of the learner partially. GIFT‘s Emboss Exercise is thus the best
research by Prof. Khalid Ameer Rafique, which make learner free from above
mention habits.
The above rewriting process that takes place is mostly
while touching a surface but one cannot do the same as in the case of Emboss
because while pouring epoxy on the surface through various types of nozzle
containers or thick injections with an open point immediately on touching the
surface gets distorted. This means that in the above tools the point must be at
least .5-.75cm higher than the surface which is the means of controlled skills
by the learner of embossing. Hence this shows that there is a complete absence
of the need to rewrite or erase which is why Emboss is an exercise of GIFT
helping to mould the fresh learner very easily to practice in the future professionally
with confident.
For example: Before doing emboss exercise partially on
paper or cloth or any surface they have learnt drawing as needed for Fashion
and Textile Design.
Their understanding about nature, geometrical forms
and their abstracts, while learning through scribbling and final drawing and
shading, pen ornamentation etc helps them for perfect embossing for its
appropriate purpose.
At GIFT embossing is taught for multiple purposes such
as Fine Arts, Textile and Fashion Accessories. With different types of epoxies
one can develop meaningful designs as needed by the course abstract for future
professional practice as follows:
·
Especially Home
Textile and Home Décor is highly successful and appreciated and for all over
ornamental style and Fashion works like embroidery.
·
Another
achievement of this exercise is that the learner can achieve speed with
controlled accuracy, through effortless hand movement of powerful embossing
strokes creating an instant composition without any hindrance and hesitation.
The final finished product that develops the confidence and happiness making
one forget the erasing habit making the GIFT learner overall stronger and
positive towards their professional field.
·
Embossing Exercise
of GIFT is an amazingly versatile reflection of a meaning that one cannot
possibly find to be given in any dictionary. This shows that it is not possible
for other Design Institutions to practice it in the way it needs to be done.
GIFT being an NGO has always been open for all to share their expertise for the
designer’s community globally.
·
The other example
would be How to create color epoxies, for various textile and its uses in
multiple styles through writing, scribbling, texturing, drawing of either nature,
geometrical and abstract or anything of drawing and design having a fragile as
well as a strong look overlapping in it. Thus helping in creating two or more
surfaces for one concept, its transparency.
·
Like healing pads
, bold, fragile, beautiful , maybe versatile, horizontal or directionless
abstract, zigzag, geometrical, abstract or parallel, anything is possible for
GIFT’s learner for making a concept on a controllable size such as cushion
cover to bed spread never creating doubt in the learner’s mind about their
confidence for the above.
·
How should one believe the above mentioned?
Simply
travel through your mind in the Amazon jungle, through Kashmir and Switzerland
hills to Andaman & Nicobar, Hawaii Island and on imagining this you will
realize that it is difficult to deny the fact that everything said above is a
beautiful paradise.
·
If you have an Ariel look of various cities such as
New York, Bombay, London, Paris, and Tokyo and so on you can find without any
denial attitude their projection in a systematic manner. That shows the world
is beautiful with emboss and it means our heart and soul.
·
Due to the above
understanding the world enjoys to watch united through various meanings a total
universe with earth in it.
·
Such as watching
Bay Watch or Bold and Beautiful from Lawrence Arabia to Titanic movies, sports
events with its versatility where you can see the quick gesture in humans,
small birds flying in a bunch, in the same manner, marine life which is full of
dimension and still quite undiscovered today. These above examples are very
close to the human mind in spite of which there is, they are still without much
practice to imagine such things meaningfully in the world. This is why GIFT’s
common learning in lesser time becomes best in learning due to continuous
effort by learners as well as by GIFT faculties
·
At GIFT we never say we are the best but always are
under the struggle to practice that is why through GIFT’s product to show, our
designing skills and education we are earning immense respect and recognition
globally.

Even after me being at a high authority and all the tests that these people went through the organization raised the objective and had their strong doubts about these people that they would not be fit to work for their job profile due to the colour blindness problem.
For your reference the actual colour picture
plates is kept for your understanding and the practice can be done globally.
Thanks to God Almighty for my inspiration in
faith to the masses along with my students in what GIFT teaches and believes.

Stencil Designing and its utility:
It is a very easy subject for GIFT fresh learner because it has
been taught at school level, under craft learning activities and in today’s
time there are many manufacturing companies that provide art materials like
stencil having instructions for its use that is used by school learners
especially for their projects and decoration purposes, imposing through various
colored and textured craft paper. But in reality this is not Stencil designing,
it is just a tool used for bringing the above effect.
GIFT learners firstly learn to draw elements of the Earth paradise
nature, in geometrical and abstract forms like creatures mask etc. Later they
learn the conversion of these forms appropriately without losing its character
and meaning in stencil which can be further made into a fine art as well as a
textile print for its versatile utility such as wall hanging with mix and match
medium, table tops and mats, bedspreads, curtains and saris etc. Due to GIFT’s
systematic approach towards teaching it is very easy for GIFT learner to learn
and practice the above.
Further, on conceiving ideas from the above learning one can
utilize stencil for screen printing without exposing the screen technically and
in many more ways which is made flexible at GIFT while learning through
empirical methods.
The above art of stencil can be utilized more in shading to bring
out depth and volume through utilization of air brush while painting through
stencils. It is an amazing style that can be handled by GIFT learners very
easily for making appliqué and patch work on textile for fresh learner. This is
how the above learning certainly helps students in conceptualization for
Fashion, Textile and Home Fashion Textile Interior Decor.
This course is added up with Fashion designing to make GIFT
learner more advanced and equipped with additional knowledge so that it can be
utilized in a versatile manner for making such fashionable Textile and Apparel
prototypes etc.

PENCIL DRAWING AND SHADING
Importance of pencil drawing and
shading symphony in harmonious style for Fashion and Textile figurative weaves
and print Illustrations.
History depicts and shows us from stone-age to modern era how well humans
have built bridges through communication skills in versatile manners which can
be seen historically from stone-age through scratching, scribbling unreadable
text, but certainly brought meaningful graffiti to make others understand their mind’s images and associations which
later on became powerful tools for outreaching to the masses.
Since the “Kalam” (pen) and other
tools like lead in pencil got invented, the baby pencil has been blowing the
minds of humans. And no one has seen the end of the blowing of pencil and it
goes till infinity along with versatile human society and developed minds.
Baby pencil is a very handy tool since childhood to everyone for
scribbling text or any graffiti on paper or in surrounding. Due to the
irresponsible act of elders “that” creation of childhood is normally not
preserved to understand his or hers own mischievous act of baby pencil.
No doubt, baby pencil is an
amazing tool with which a designer’s soul can fly effortlessly in any direction
of creativity like the waves on water, sand dunes in deserts spreaded on green
carpet and force of rain and lightning from the sky because baby pencil is
everybody’s childhood friend.
Today, various numbers of lead pencils are available. Some are hard like
carbon and others are soft like butter. What else the baby pencil need under
its own shelter to blow appropriately as needed from a designer’s soul to form
the needed concept.
The above said understanding reflects
a wonderful bounteous effect which is unimaginable like the great sorcerer
doing his act, the musician blowing the flute or hitting the chord of
instruments and creating symphonious sound which pours like honey into people’s
ears to make them feel like heaven. That shows baby pencil itself as a
magician.
For Example, the soft lead of baby pencil with single stroke creates
illusions, vision in versatile light and dark hues with immense power of depth
and volume. Oh! Yes, what a baby pencil can do to control a designers’ soul,
skills and vary in conceptualization as well as versatile meaningful prints to
communicate while becoming history for the new generation.
One doesn’t need more time to
command and control the baby pencil for scribbling, graffiti or what so ever in
its utility like an artist. You just need a platform like GIFT where you will
be able to do it as a fresh learner in few hours. That means baby pencil needs
a master and the master needs a “Guru” as depicted in the “Golden Era of Ashram
days”.
One need to have recalling power through empirical method of learning
that makes the learner grow faster and
take command on the baby pencil to write the way they like in their act. Hence
the human mind is fully rendered in versatile permutation and combination of
millions and millions of forms which is actually a memorial jungle of human
memory mixed up with pure and bad soul. That means one need to filter the above
said saying, which will lead our life to a single path as a great articulator with
baby pencil. And if some loses the charity of baby pencil, they loose their
designer’s soul in this competitive era, which means the love and affection
with baby pencil can not be tabulated and framed. It should let it flow with
all supporting human organs on appropriate surface along with the human memory
jungle that certainly will bring out the meaningful form of art which is
actually the visualization power of perfect composition of a designer’s soul.
The most important note for the
fresh learner is that he or she must not develop foolish fear phobia in
learning. They should remember that God is great and He is the Almighty of all
to make everybody’s act perfect. So, why not try as a GIFT fresher and become
the master of baby pencil.
When we are talking about baby pencil, there are no big and fancy jargons
in utility of baby pencils creative act. Kindly note that I am not trying to
outlaw the language and protect the baby pencil qualities for the dimension of
human mind. However, I am trying to convey through my recalling power and
continuous versatile research since childhood that the baby pencil is dear to
all and nobody can posses the lock and key to it. It is God who has given us to
use them, so try to use it in any direction to any volume and depth in your art
picture with baby pencil floating in versatile gesture and pressure. Certainly
the user becomes an artist only in few hours and for that you cannot claim to
be a sorcerer but it is your own magic, simply because of God’s grace.
At GIFT Gandhi NGO, from the very first moment to the very last, students
learning consume countless varying lead baby pencils. However, the baby pencil
gets vanished and becomes history for others to learn and then gets converted
into wonderful art pieces; because every single soul of a designer is different
and the work with baby pencil amazes others with its synchronous work.
Normally, the fresh learner tries
to depict the truth in their learning, but at GIFT NGO baby pencil in the
beginning flows uncontrollably for its images for a particular form to
understand the depth and volume in versatile light effects. At GIFT, we blend
in teaching unusual methods of creating images such as fishes flying in the
air, fountains running against the gravitational power, nature wrapped around
the human body, leaves of plant showing geometry, imaginary trees growing in
sorcerer’s style, landscapes proceeding towards infinity, etc. That makes a
learner flow the baby pencil against the normal human style of its utility and
its act that makes the designer’s soul to understand any dimension of any form,
due to that they can add various imaginary dimension in their empirical art
works without any frustration. As a result, the final output is eye-catching
and pleasing.
The queen of baby pencil is the softer lead which is designer friendly
and very handy to rotate in any direction to achieve desirable results in all
the initial and final stages. It is a combination of mind; hands and baby
pencil which cannot be altered and replaced by any designer’s tool.
“Nobody can reject the baby
pencil because it is simply dear to all and no designer’s soul can survive
without the baby pencil”.
In my 50 years [2011] of experience with baby pencil, it has become the
blood flowing in my veins which doesn’t require ignition. It happens
spontaneously when needed. That is why I am able to visualize roses on plant
standing still, roses flying; rose walking in any style and gestures of the
above said act which is possible if you know how to control the baby pencil in
your blood.
“Remember whenever you are using
the baby pencil as a fresh learner, don’t make it friendly to the eraser. One
should erase before the baby pencil acts from the mind. Such particular
creativity, certainly will built the confidence for a learner’s growth”.
The baby pencil creates miracles like translucence happening through so
many concept walls. Once the fresh learner quickly achieves the transparency of
baby pencil they can frame their every single attempt as a final outcome.
There is not much left to say after writing and telling the stories as
mentioned above whether it is good, very good or going to be much better if
someone carry on using baby pencil in any art profession.
Don’t believe what I have written, please try it by yourself and feel
good and better after achieving your desirable act through versatile baby
pencil, then believe.
Remember, you cannot discard your friendly baby pencil to its wants and
cozy shelter to perform as needed, that will make you understand the importance
of other human beings in liking.
Learn how to praise every single stroke of the baby pencil, be it light
or very light, dark or very dark or may be fragile or minute. If you praise
every single act of the baby pencil as mentioned above you can conquer the
world form your soul while creating masterpieces of art which can be Fashion
Illustration, Textile Prints and Jewellery or Fine Art.
Today, various manufacturers have developed baby pencil in different
leads, colours and in water soluble form as well. Hence, they have added more
flavour and utility of the baby pencil to utilize by the designer’s soul in
their appropriate creative act. At GIFT we mostly use Staedtler, Kohinoor,
Faber Castle, Derwent or sometimes Camlin in the classroom to make the fresh
learner friendly for the above said learning.
I don’t think that I need to write about volume, depth and dimensions of
art in designing because it is readable from any picture plates. I just need to
say that, try today and become a master without fear. If you give up your try
and after sixteen years you are again tempted for trying it and succeed, then
you will be regret, why wasted many years!! But if you have lost the sixteen
years without trying then you are behind so many eras. So what I really want to
convey is that learn and act with single adoration as mentioned above then you
will find you relaxed and calm.
Baby pencil is not just a piece of tool, it totally gives you peace of
mind and it will multiply its goodness every time you act fearlessly and
carefully with the baby pencil.
Baby pencil is my tool but I cannot claim it, it can be yours too. Make
it your friend and remember GIFT for the above mentioned said things and convey
to others. That is my heartiest wish.
All my activities are transparent and whoever likes it will surely be
benefited, that is why I am collecting penny to penny to built GIFT website and
Google Blogs so powerful for all universal fresh learners. This is my mission
and your mission should be, to get benefited in the name of God Almighty for
the entire designer’s soul.

FABRIC PAINTING:
Water Colour for Fashion and Textile
Introduction
to GIFT’s Water Colour Exercise:
To learn Water colour,
one needs to go through history for better understanding of the subject
meaningfully and that gained understanding will bring the subject illusions and
glow to their mind with spiritual purity, that works symphonic ally and giving
the feel of a heart beating in harmony with imaginary vision of layers and
layers covered like crystal glass, from where one can see the transparent
subjective compositions and occurrences.
It is very difficult
to understand the earth like colour paradise with an additional essence of
marine life which covers the earth and makes God’s creatures life to flourish
by all means in numbers and in growth. As we all know one cannot travel the
earth and understand in one lifetime as it becomes a difficult task for any
human kind. That is why to understand the above subject; one should be very
selective about the area to gather in depth knowledge for its happening.
The beauty of the
paradise earth will remain as long as water is present which means without
water the earth paradise will not remain the same. It is scientifically proven
that the area of earth is divided into two major portions which constitute 70%
water and marine life and 30% is the earth where we live in a versatile
meaning. With this understanding water plays a major role for survival to all
as above mention and you can easily follow the style of God’s creation. And
certainly, it becomes very easy to obtain subjective knowledge with meaningful
understanding to carry forward our own work for a better living and overall growth.
The above text
certainly will not make you understand how to proceed as a fresh learner to
learn Watercolor painting, drawing, etc. in such a short span as like GIFT
students. For this we are adding a few examples and stories which will
certainly open their mind for the proceeding information:
During the Solomon
era, Solomon himself invited a Lady Queen as a guest of honor from their nearby
kingdom. After the meal The Lady Queen came out from the castle and she saw the
water being spread in a larger area in the desert near the Solomon castle. She
got thrilled to see that and partly lifting her skirt, tried to wet her feet to
touch the water surface and what she was seeing as water, she got shocked
because it was horizontally spread with smoothness like a pure transparent
joint glass slab. This shows that the purity of transparent cleanliness can
easily fool the human mind’s belief. These kinds of various examples are
present in history which can be learnt through stories of different eras and
civilizations. Certainly that understanding and gathered knowledge from the
stories can give you a clearer picture as to what actually is Watercolour and its paintings through a transparent
style or partly adding a flavour of translucence.
From the above
understanding we can have various examples for colours from paradise earth
which is clean and pure and their transparent character and its utility
historically depicted in different era’s and civilizations. Hence nobody can
deny God’s creations as follows:
The colours like heifer green, pista green, swan green aqua
marine, aqua purplish blue, aqua lilac, aqua lavender, flowery baby blue, baby
green, baby yellow, baby scarlet, baby crimson, baby pink and rocks/stones hue and their grey affect are
still very close to the human mind and its utility which is from nature as
natural as a baby. And such examples can never be denied by human, which is
virtue and gift to us by the grace of God Almighty.
For learners it is a
good example to see through aquamarine coloured sea, and see the distant
happenings proceeding without any hassle while observing the purity of marine
life. And if learners can learn water colour from the above stated examples it
altogether builds up their confidence making their outreach to the subject
artistic, technical and direct. The above stories will certainly open their
minds at the very beginning in a direct context helping them to visualize with
an added flavour of imagination form nature. Hence it is certain that their
learning will then be carried forward.
The above
understanding from examples will restrict you for using colours as like opaque
medium, which means a tint of colour and more water on the paper surface will
certainly give a transparent effect. And always remember from applying one
stroke to another stroke of the brush from different colours, one must let the
first stroke dry partially otherwise that second stroke of brush with colour
makes the surface not transparent but translucent. With this practice one can
carry on adding one layer to another on the same subject and you can see the
entire added colour reflections in transparency of that subject clearly and its
proceedings and happenings. What else the fresh learner needs to learn the
subject confidently.
You may have heard the moral stories of the tortoise and rabbit,
the thirsty crow and the hungry fox, sorcerer’s thoughts, which I have composed
for fresh learners to give more meaning to their learning as follows:
Design Infinite
Intaglio
Magnetizing art through the sorcerer’s
splashing of wonderful thoughts,
With meaningful abstract ideas of heart,
As like a clever crow’s mind sort,
Like a directional continuous tortoise walk,
Without a giving up attitude as a confused
fox,
That gives a way to GIFT students.
By Khalid Ameer Rafique
The above moral
stories and text is meaningful in a fresh learner’s life to learn in short span
as like a matured artist knowing the subject of Water colour for textile and fashion design at GIFT
which is then carried forward into a conversion of textile surface,
illustrations as well as fashion illustrations learning’s and its utility. This
shows each learning in GIFT of design arts is somehow interlinked to each other
where the subject synchronies in symphony, with harmonious compositions and
their various derivatives and permutation and combinations for further
professional practice. This is only possible if you follow the above explained
understanding.
To be transparent and translucent in life, in the beginning it is
painful because it is very difficult to kill the sinful mind and its hypocrisy
and once a fresh learner achieves the desirable results, the above text becomes
more modest and simple. For such learner it is very easy to accept the
shortcomings while learning and certainly the smile on the face they correct
them with the subject joyfully and due to such act, they don’t compete with
outside world, they compete themselves. Nobody can deny such growth, which is
virtue by the grace of God Almighty.
It is a matter of
willingness just like we have learned to improve our handwriting with a
knowledgeable mind through co-relating our memories, certainly your brain
garden will be blooming and heart will shade towards the path of modesty in a
learner’s life with their associations. This can be felt by learner as well as
others and their work will across globally reaching for appraise.
The above
understanding is not so easy without modesty and simplicity because it is
difficult to praise somebody’s work and a fresh learner learns that they will
learn more. And their leaning in the day to day’s life is something that nobody
can deny, which is virtue by the grace of God Almighty and with that their soul
of art will cherish.
Kindly do not
correlate GIFT teaching patterns and understanding of sharing expertise through
demonstrating individually methods or by stories. Since everybody has different
ways of teaching the above said subject, only if you find it soothing then you
must try to attempt that in learning otherwise the fresh learners will mingle
you for their own distortion. So it is advised to kindly read the above text
carefully. My 40 years of experience and expertise made me understand the
meaning of solo modesty and humbleness, for others as a teacher. GIFT have uploaded the fresh learner’s illustration
plates making others understand how to begin better than GIFT students
globally. Kindly note that in GIFT education
of teaching methods and mission full pattern there is no exaggeration in
teaching, since we believe to be very close to the human likings as well as
mind, you will not find more distortion in abstraction in GIFT student’s work.
Kindly feel free and
to give your feedback. It will be highly appreciated and certainly if it is
appropriate we will incorporate it in GIFT’s course abstract.
